A speech-language pathologist is the best professional to evaluation for articulation and phonological impairments. Early intervention is important and usually includes hearing screening and a comprehensive evaluation by a speech-language pathologist. An SLP can determine whether a child’s speech/phonological patterns are age-appropriate, or if therapy is warranted.
